Peruvian striker Claudio Pizarro admits he could leave Werder Bremen at the end of the season.
The former Chelsea forward has a contract until June 2013 at Werder, but a clause in his contract states that he can leave the club on a free transfer at the end of the season.
Pizarro has been enjoying his time in Bremen after recovering from injury, having scored 15 goals in 18 Bundesliga games, but he is not yet ready to commit to the Weserstadion outfit.
“All I am able to confess is that I like the great family atmosphere that is around the club,” Pizarro told club’s official website.
“The people of Bremen love their players, this is a special relationship. I am definitely not moving back to Peru, that is a certainty.”
Pizarro made a name for himself during his first spell at Werder, and went on to score 29 league goals before signing for Bayern Munich in June 2001.
The Peruvian spent six very successful years with the Bavarians, but then decided to join Chelsea on a free transfer when his contract at Alianz Arena expired.
After the unsuccessful spell at Stamford Bridge, Pizarro returned to Bremen, where he has scored 57 goals in 92 league games during his second spell at the club.
