Olympique Lyonnais midfielder Clement Grenier has hinted at a summer move away from the Stade de Gerland amid reports linking him with English Premier League side Newcastle United.
The France international, 23, was the subject of an £8 million bid from the Magpies during the January transfer window but the offer was rejected by the Ligue 1 club.
Grenier, whose current contract at Lyon expires in the summer of 2016, has since been linked with a host of European clubs, including the likes of Arsenal and Bayer Leverkusen.
“You never know what can happen,” Grenier said. “I think first I have to prepare myself.
“I’m at Lyon, but I know that economic reasons may change that. If it happens then it will, in any case, the decision must be made together.
“If it allows me to take the next step and it helps the club….For now, there is no news and I move forward with the club.”
Grenier, who was forced to withdraw from France’s World Cup squad due to injury, tallied four goals and five assists in 28 Ligue 1 appearances for Les Gones last season.
PSG ace Adrien Rabiot does not want to extend deal
Paris Saint-Germain starlet Adrien Rabiot does not want to extend his current deal with the French champions, according to his agent and mother Veronique Rabiot.
The France Under-21 international, a former Manchester City youth player, is reportedly attracting interest from Italian Serie A trio A.S. Roma, Internazionale and Juventus after impressing in limited opportunities at the Parc des Princes last term.
English Premier League giants Arsenal and Chelsea want Rabiot, who scored two goals in 25 league appearances, including 12 starts, for Laurent Blanc’s side in 2013/14.
However, the January arrival of Yohan Cabaye from Newcastle United has kept the dynamic youngster out of the first-team, which could lead him to leave the club in the coming weeks, and understandably so.
“I deny any agreement with Roma and with any other clubs. My son has a contract with Paris Saint-Germain but he does not want to extend it,” Veronique Rabiot said.
“If the club want to sell him this summer, we will begin to listen to the proposals that will come. Otherwise we’ll respect the rules and we won’t talk with any club.
“Juventus? If they were to make an offer to PSG and they accepted it, it would be a solution that could be of interest for my son.”
Where will Rabiot ply his trade next season?
