Aston Villa have signed Manchester United outcast Tom Cleverley on a season-long loan, according to the Express.
Villa made an attempt to push through a deal late on Monday, and had to wait for the Premier League to authorise a move which they did on Tuesday afternoon.
The 25 year old England midfielder racked up seventy-nine appearances for United in all competitions since making his debut for the club, scoring five goals while internationally he has been capped thirteen times for his country.
However, he failed to make Roy Hodgson’s final 23 for this summer’s World Cup finals in Brazil and was also left out of the squad selected for the forthcoming games against Norway and Switzerland.
He will now join up with Paul Lambert’s side for the entirety of the 2014/15 campaign, with the Midlands side having been given the option to make the deal permanent next summer.
