(GSM) – The championship group in the Belgian Pro League got underway this Saturday with Sint-Truiden holding Club Brugge to a goalless draw.

Brugge travelled to Sint-Truiden hoping to apply pressure on Anderlecht, who go into this final phase with a considerable advantage.

But instead, no goals were scored at Stayen stadium, as Brugge give Anderlecht the chance to further extend their lead on Sunday.

The championship group forms part of the Belgian season for the first time. The top six teams from the regular campaign all get their points halved ahead of a double round-robin group phase.

At the start of this play-off, Anderlecht had six points more than nearest rivals Brugge. Following Saturday’s draw, the Brussels could extend that lead to eight points with a win over Zulte-Waregem on Sunday.
