Coates keen to keep Begovic

Stoke City chairman Peter Coates has said that he will fight to keep hold of goalkeeper Asmir Begovic, according to the Mail Online.

The Bosnia and Herzegovina international has been constantly linked with a move to one of Europe’s elite clubs after his consistent performances for both club and country.

Joe Hart’s loss of form has led to talk of a potential bid from Manchester City manager Manuel Pelegrini, while Arsenal and Barcelona have also been monitoring his progress though Coates has insisted to local press that the 26 year old will not be allowed to leave the Britannia Stadium without a fight.

His latest clean sheet came in the Potters 2-0 win over bottom of the table Sunderland at the weekend, and he be looking to continue his form at Everton on Saturday afternoon, where Mark Hughes’ men can be backed at a generous price of 8/1 to win the match without conceding.
