Portuguese defender Fabio Coentrao has said in no uncertain terms that he would be delighted to join Manchester United.
The Real Madrid full back narrowly missed out on a switch to Old Trafford almost a year ago, but the Red Devils appear to have reignited their interest in the highly rated footballer.
According to AS, Manchester United are eager to make things right next summer and lure the defender to England, and they have now been handed a major boost in their pursuit of the 27 year old.
Namely, Coentrao has admitted that he would love to join the Red Devils at the end of the current campaign.
“I had already shown interest in playing there,” Coentrao told O Jogo. “It is one of the best clubs in the world, a club that I admire very much. It would be an honour for me to play there.”
Despite playing second fiddle to Marcelo at Santiago Bernabeu, Coentrao remains an important player for Portugal and he scored the winning goal in the 2-1 triumph over Serbia at the weekend, after impressing in the left wing role.
