Coentrao: I want to join Real

Benfica full-back Fabio Coentrao insists that he only wants to go to Real Madrid.

A host of biggest European clubs have shown interest in the Portugal international, but he says Real Madrid is his preferred choice.

“First and foremost is Madrid, with the best coach and best players in the world,” Coentrao told AS.

“I also have many friends playing there. But nothing is done. For my part, of course I like Madrid and I hope that from now on everything goes well.”

The highly rated defender says that he would only leave Benfica for Real.

“I am in a great club and will not change it for any other than Madrid. It has the best coach and best players and I just want to go there.”

The Eagles rate Coentrao at €30 million, but Real are hoping to lower the asking price by including a couple of players in the deal.
