Cole considering Championship move

Joe Cole has held talks with Aston Villa manager Tim Sherwood over a potential loan move to a Championship club, according to the Telegraph.

The former England international is keen to find first team football after being frozen out at Villa Park, with his only appearance this season coming in last month’s League Cup victory over Notts County.

He also played just fifteen times in all competitions last season, and is now willing to drop down a division as he looks for more opportunities.

Prior to his move to Villa Park, Cole had an eighteen month spell back at West Ham United – the club where he began his career – while he has also spent time at Liverpool, Ligue 1 side Lille and most notably Chelsea, where he won a host of honours including three Premier League titles and three FA Cups.

He also has been capped fifty-six times for his country, scoring ten goals.
