Everton midfielder Seamus Coleman says his side can end Newcastle United’s unbeaten run on Saturday.
Twelve points separate 16th-placed Everton and the Magpies, who aree third ahead of Chelsea, but the Irishman is confident that his team can come away from St James’ Park with three points.
“We’ve got a big game coming up against Newcastle,” Coleman told the club’s official website.
“We really need the three points. They’re flying into the match – they’re doing really well. It’s difficult going there no matter what kind of form they’re in.”
“We know we need the three points and it’s not going to be easy Saturday.”
“I think they’re blessed with good players. They’re solid defensively. Demba Ba is a threat.”
“They’re a good team but we’ve played against good teams before and we’ll be more than confident.”
“They’re unbeaten in the Premier League, but it’ll be up to us on Saturday to stop that.”
Though David Moyes’ side have lost four of their last five, Coleman took heart from his team’s performance last weekend against champions Manchester United.
“I thought we played quite well against Manchester United,” he said.
“We didn’t get the goal in the end, but in the second half we were by far the better team.”
