(GSM) – Colo Colo kept alive their hopes of qualifying for the Copa Libertadores knockout round on Tuesday after they defeated Deportivo Italia, 3-2, in Caracas.

The Ecuadoreans, already eliminated from the tournament, opened the scoring in the 15th minute when Emerson Paniguitti slotted home, but Cristián Bogado equalized just 11 minutes later for the visitors.

The side from Chile then took the lead when Ezequiel Miralles made it 2-1 in the 38th minute, and he bagged a second goal 12 minutes into the second half.

Ricardo Blanco’s penalty in the 86th minute gave Italia some hope, but it was not to be.

Colo Colo sit three points behind both Cruzeiro and Velez in the group standings with one match left to play.
