Competition: Copa America
Market: Colombia win
Odds: 7/4 @ Bet 365
Already booking their spot in the knockout stage of this year’s Copa America, a high-flying Colombia will face Paraguay in Bahia on Sunday night.
Starting with a revitalized Colombia outfit, while they may have left it late against Qatar in midweek, few would have expected the Yellows’ stellar run in Group B. Picking up back-to-back victories, including a 2-0 win over Argentina in their Copa America opener, former Manchester United coach Carlos Queiroz has seen his side enjoy a four-match winning run. Also tasing defeat just once in their 10 post-World Cup appearances, it has been their defensive resolve most catching eye. Colombia have recorded four consecutive clean sheets and have not picked the ball out of their own net in over 400 minutes of action.
As for the visitors, although Paraguay might still be dreaming of a route out of Group B, Los Guaraníes are in the midst of an inconsistent patch. Aside from a routine 2-0 win over Guatemala earlier in the year, Eduardo Berizzo’s men have failed to win any of their other nine outings, a run that stems back to November. 2017. A huge part of their Paraguay’s recent issues has been their continued struggles outside of Asunción. Making the trip to Bahia this weekend, Los Guaraníes have not picked up a single victory on their travels on almost two years.
