Competition: MLS
Market: Colorado Rapids win
Odds: 1/1 @ 888sport
Looking to continue on their eye-catching run of form, Colorado Rapids will welcome a struggling LA Galaxy to Dick’s Sporting Goods Park in the early hours of Sunday.
Starting with the hosts, with it appearing that their defeat against Dallas was just a minor blip for the Rapids, Colorado have certainly bounced back in some style. Putting in what was another thumping display against San Jose last time out, Robin Fraser’s men landed a 5-0 romp on home soil and have managed to find a route back into the Final Series spots in the Western Conference. Now losing just one of their last seven MLS matchups and collecting 12 points over their final four appearances, Colorado once again bagged five goals against Real Salt Lake last month and they should be boosted by what was a very impressive last meeting against Sunday’s guests. Making the trip to Los Angeles last month, the Rapids picked up a 2-0 win on their travels and will be looking to make a similar statement this weekend.
As for the visitors, while Colorado might have really impressed with their back-to-back victories, the same cannot be said for an LA Galaxy squad who are firmly in the midst of a crisis. Last seen putting in what was another defensive horror show at home against Portland, the former MLS giants were hit for six in Carson and already find themselves sat rock-bottom of the Western Conference. Enduring what has been nothing short of a disastrous run of form of the past three weeks, LA have now lost each of their last five appearances on the bounce and unsurprisingly hold a worrying reputation for their glaring issues at the back. Losing five MLS matchups on the spin for the first time in their history and hit with a 2-0 defeat when they hosted Colorado at the Dignity Health Sports Park’s last month, we’re backing a similar outcome on Sunday.
