(GSM) – Major League Soccer Eastern Conference leaders Columbus Crew suffered a rare 0-4 defeat by Seattle Sounders on Saturday, while Real Salt Lake beat Chicago Fire to jump to the top of the Western Conference.
Blaise N’Kufo, who last season helped FC Twente win the Dutch championship, was of great influence in Seattle’s 0-4 win at Columbus Crew.
The Swiss attacked scored three of the four goals, doing so in the 4th, 39th and 75th minutes. Nathan Sturgis netted the remaining goal, converting a penalty in the 42nd minute.
Earlier on the day, Real Salt Lake beat Chicago Fire 1-0 with a 45th-minute penalty-goal from Alvaro Saborio.
Real Salt Lake are now in first place in the Western Conference, but joint-leaders Los Angeles Galaxy do still have a game in hand.
