Feyenoord coach Ronald Koeman was proud of the committed effort from his players following their derby victory over PSV.
The Rotterdam giants sealed the three points with goals from Sekou Cisse and Ruben Schaken as they brought themselves within four points of the Eindhoven side on the Eredivisie table.
Koeman expressed his delight in his side’s display and commitment after the crucial Eredivisie tie.
“I really liked the commitment, the experience as a whole and the way we played,” Koeman told De Telegraaf. “As coach I can only be proud of the team.”
The manager’s words were echoed by captain Ron Vlaar, who felt a 2-0 victory was a fair result for his side.
“We can be really proud. I think it was an exciting game to see,” Vlaar said. “The odds were on both sides and it (the match) was played at a fast pace.”
“I think 2-0 is a great victory. They made two mistakes and we punished them for it. I think we can be very proud.”
Feyenoord are currently fifth in the Eredivisie and are now level on points with arch-rivals Ajax.
