Como complete Reina, Moreno deals

Having earned promotion to the Italian Serie A for 2024/25, Como have completed the deals to sign goalkeeper Pepe Reina and left-back Alberto Moreno as free agents, after both their contracts with Villarreal expired at the end of last month, according to Fabrizio Romano.

Both players will be given contracts for one year, and while 32-year-old Moreno is arguably expected to be seriously involved on the pitch throughout the upcoming season, Reina, at the age of 41, should be a backup option between the posts, with the club still in strong pursuit of Pau Lopez from Olympique Marseille as their new No.1.

Apart from Villarreal, Moreno and Reina both played for Liverpool at different stages of their respective careers, but while Moreno has only his boyhood club Sevilla to add to his CV, Reina stood between the posts for Barcelona, Napoli, Bayern Munich, AC Milan, Aston Villa and Lazio.
