Costa Rican side Deportivo Saprissa defeated 10-man Olimpia 1-0 in their CONCACAF Champions League clash on Thursday.
Armando Alonso struck the winner in the 23rd minute of the first leg of their quarter-final clash, after Olimpia defender Bonieck Garcia was shown a red card for the Hondurans in the 10th minute at the Estadio Ricardo Saprissa.
Alonso followed up his goal scoring form from Sunday, when he fired Saprissa to a 2-0 club win in Costa Rica over Puntarenas.
Saprissa will take their slender lead into the return leg in Honduras next week.
The coveted prize on the line for the CONCACAF Champions League winner is a ticket to the 2011 Club World Cup in December.
