AS Roma have completed and confirmed the signing of Amadou Diawara from Napoli.
Roma CEO Guido Fienga has revealed that his club had been watching the 21-year-old closely for a while, and is of the opinion that the player’s talents have been clear for everyone in Italy to see. He also expressed his hope that Diawara will become and important player for the team in the near future.
The midfielder, who is currently representing Guinea at the African Cup of Nations, joins Roma on a five-year deal, with Napoli, the club in whose shirt he made 74 appearances in all competitions over three years, set to receive a compensation of €21 million.
The arrival of Diawara follows that of Leandro Spinazzolla, a fullback who joined Roma this weekend from Juventus in a deal that sees Luca Pellegrini go the other way. At about the same time, Roma parted ways with centre-back Kostas Manolas, who has joined Napoli.
