New Chelsea manager Antonio Conte is keen for Diego Costa to remain at Chelsea, according to Sky Sports.
The Italian, who recently took charge at Stamford Bridge after guiding his country through Euro 2016 has denied speculation that the Spain international is on the verge of returning to former club Atletico Madrid.
Costa signed for the Blues from Atleti in the summer of 2014 and has since racked up seventy-eight appearances for the London club in all competitions, scoring thirty-seven goals.
His twenty strikes in the Premier League in his first season with the club helped guide them to the championship whilst he also netted in the League Cup final victory over Tottenham Hotspur.
Internationally, he made two friendly appearances for Brazil – the country of his birth, before declaring for Spain, who he represented at the 2014 World Cup finals.
In total he has ten caps for Spain, with his one and only international goal so far coming in a 4-0 Euro 2016 qualification victory over Luxembourg.
