Chelsea manager Antonio Conte will look for a new forward when the transfer window reopens in January, according to the Telegraph.
The Premier League champions are currently short of options in terms of out-and-out strikers with Michy Batshuayi the only real alternative to summer signing Alvaro Morata.
Batshuyai scored nine goals last season – a tally that includes the goal that secured a 1-0 win over West Bromwich Albion – a result that clinched the title for the Blues.
He is yet to register a goal in the league so far this campaign with three of his five goals so far coming in last month’s 5-1 League Cup fourth round win over Nottingham Forest while he also hit the winner against Atletico Madrid a week later.
The twenty-four year old got a rare start as Chelsea suffered a shock defeat to Crystal Palace on Saturday, a result which has left them nine points behind Manchester City.
