Conte refuses Newcastle role

According to a recent report from Fabio Santini, Antonio Conte has refused the possibility of becoming Newcastle United’s new manager.

For a few days it seemed as if Conte was the primary name being linked with a move to Tyneside alongside Eddie Howe. Now, however, he’s distanced himself with that position, seemingly not wanting to take on the risks associated with it.

Manchester United, however, could be in the market for a new manager in the not too distant future, with Conte potentially being lined up as someone who can take charge.

It all comes down to whether or not the board is ready to pull the trigger on sacking Ole Gunnar Solskjaer because if they are, Conte will be waiting in the wings.

As for Newcastle, there’s still far too much uncertainty in the air for anyone to hazard a 100% confident guess as to who will be their new man at the helm.
