Conte rules out Chiellini’s potential Chelsea move

Everyone loves a good reunion, apart from Antonio Conte it seems. The Chelsea boss has waved away rumours of a move for Juventus defender and stalwart of the Italian national team Giorgio Chiellini, according to the Metro.

Chiellini was ever-present in central defence during Conte’s time in charge of Juventus, during which time the Old lady were utterly dominant in the Serie A. The Italian coach believes however that the centre half will “want to finish his career at Juventus”, suggesting that “it’s right to finish his career in this way.”

The defender has been a crucial member of the Juventus back line for a remarkable 13 seasons now and has won six Serie A titles with the club. Chiellini has been one of the world’s top defenders over the past decade, and looks set to finish his career at Juve.

Chelsea aren’t in desperate need of a defender, having conceded just 14 times in the Premier League this season, so this may not come as a massive blow to the Blues.
