According to Sky Sports, Antonio Conte has ruled himself out of the running to become Real Madrid’s new manager. The former Chelsea boss supposedly doesn’t feel like the project was right for him, and as a result he has decided to extend his absence from football management until at least the summer. He could be tempted back into a job before then, perhaps even during the rest of the season, although it would have to be under the right circumstances.
The revolving door that is the rumour mill surrounding Real Madrid right now is fascinating, and it just became a whole lot more interesting now that Conte has ruled himself out of accepting the position. A series of other managers are likely going to be considered amongst the favourites with the bookies now, but the question remains as to whether it was Conte that rejected Real or the other way around.
