According to Corriere dello Sport, Antonio Conte could be on his way to Roma – if Eusebio Di Francesco fails to deliver satisfying results in the next two games. Last season’s Champions League semi finalists have struggled to get going thus far both in Serie A and in European competition, with last yesterday’s 2-0 defeat at the hands of Bologna serving as a big red flag for the club.
Conte, who formerly managed a series of Italian clubs including Juventus, has been out of work since being replaced at Stamford Bridge by Maurizio Sarri earlier in the summer.
Chelsea and Roma find themselves in similar situations in the sense that they’re both viewed as clubs that are on the verge of reaching that ‘next level’ but can never quite get there. With that being said the Blues are faring quite well so far to start off the Premier League season, which will drive Conte on even more to prove himself elsewhere.
