(GSM) – Bayern München defender Diego Contento is set to miss his side’s Champions League first knockout round decider with Fiorentina on Tuesday after suffering an injury to his knee following Bayern’s 1-1 draw at Köln.

The 19-year-old left-back suffered a cut to his right knee that required two stitches and will now miss the trip to Italy, having played in the second half of Bayern’s 2-1 home-leg success.

And in the absence of Argentinian defender Martín Demichelis due to injury, coach Louis Van Gaal will either call upon 17-year-old Austrian international David Alaba, who replaced Contento after 73 minutes in Cologne, or Croatian international Danijel Pranji?.
