(GSM) – Racing Club finish second in Group 1 of the Copa Libertadores but their low amount of points proved to be fatal.

The Uruguayans drew 0-0 at Cerro Porteño in Paraguay but their only remaining competitors for second place, Colombian side Independiente Medellin lost 1-0 at Corinthians.

As such, Racing remain in second place with eight points, half the amount of group winners Corinthians.

Only the six best runners-up advance to the second round, while Racing Club finish eighth and last in that ranking.

Medellin finish their continental campaign with six points, Cerro Porteño have only two.
