(GSM) – Everything is still possible in the Copa Sudamericana quarter finals after the first legs of both Brazilians ties ended undecided.
The four Brazilian teams in the quarter finals all played on Wednesday, with Atletico Mineiro hosting Palmeiras while Avai visited Goias.
The match between Mineiro and Palmeiras had been under way for 55 minutes when Kleber put the visiting side in the lead, but a converted penalty from Obina leveled the score 21 minutes later.
Goias drew first blood in their home game with Avai with Rafael Moura opening the scoring in the 29th minute.
Davi (penalty) equalised in the 52nd minute and Marcelinho even put Avai ahead in the 71st, but Rafael Moura handed Goias a vital draw by scoring for 2-2 in the fourth minute of added time.
The first legs of the other two quarter finals will be played next week, with Newells Old Boys hosting LDU Quito while Independiente travel to face Deportes Tolima.
