Serie A clubs Fiorentina and Chievo are through to the Coppa Italia’s Round of 16 following victories on Tuesday.

Fiorentina encountered little resistance from Serie B outfit Reggina and ran out 3-0 winners, while Uruguayan attacker Pablo Granoche nabbed a brace as Chievo toppled second-tier side Novara 3-0.

Young Senegalese striker Khouna Babacar put Fiorentina ahead in the 29th minute, taking possession inside the area and pushing a low ball inside the right post.

Veteran midfielder Marco Marchionni got on the scoresheet in the 44th minute, meeting a corner kick at the far post and tapping in for a 2-0 lead.

Former Roma attacker Alessio Cerci sealed the win with a goal two minutes after the break, receiving Babacar’s cross at the edge of the six-yard area and nodding truly.

Meanwhile, Granoche was the hero in Chievo, finding the net in the 24th minute and again 11 minutes later as the hosts took a 2-0 lead over Novara at half-time.

Brazilian strike Marcos De Paula added another in the 83rd minute as Chievo coasted their way into the Round of 16.
