Ligue 1 outfit Lille are set to complete the signing of French full-back Sebastien Corchia from Sochaux, L’Equipe has learned.
The 23-year-old has reportedly agreed a four-year deal with les Dogues after they had a €1.8 million fee accepted by les Lionceaux.
Lille had agreed to sign Corchia back in January, but the league refused to sanction the deal due to club’s financial problems.
The long-awaited switch to Grand Stade Lille Metropole appears finally set to materialize, with the talented full-back expected to challenge Franck Beria for a starting berth.
Corchia has developed into one of league’s top defenders since joining from Le Mans three years back, having made a total of 98 league appearances for Sochaux.
He was also followed by Bayern Munich and few more top clubs, but a switch to Lille appears to be a good career choice as it should guarantee the player regular first team action.
