(GSM) – Corinthians of Brazil have started their Copa Libertadores campaign with a 2-1 win over Racing Club of Uruguay.

Home fans were soon silenced after the highly anticipated kick-off as Martin Cauteruccio put the Uruguayans in the lead in the very first minute of the match.

But Corinthians reacted well and got the equaliser through Elias ten minutes later.

And in the 70th minute, Elias went on to score another for 2-1, which turned out to be the final score.

Corinthians now lead Group 1 ahead of Cerro Porteño and Independiente Medellin, who both have one point. Racing Club are in fourth place with no points.
