Corinthians hotshot on United radar

Metro is reporting that Manchester United are keeping close tabs on Corinthians defender Antonio Carlos.

The 19-year-old has yet to establish himself in the first team set-up and is currently on loan at Oeste, but his talent has been spotted by United scouting team.

The Red Devils are closely monitoring the player’s progress and are waiting for him to make an impact at senior level before stepping up their interest in his services.

Sir Alex Ferguson has already contacted Corinthians sporting director Edu, a former Arsenal midfielder, to ensure he is kept abreast of the latest development regarding the talented defender.

Antonio Carlos regarded as one of the hottest prospects at the club, and he is considered to be a potential long-term replacement for Rio Ferdinand.

The Brazil Under-20 international has only made a total of 7 first team appearances in his career, without getting on the scoresheet.
