Corner kick gives Wizards edge over Manchester United

Kei Kamara scored one goal and set up another to give the Kansas City Wizards a 2-1 victory over Manchester United in an international football friendly on Sunday.

Kamara’s through ball set up Davy Arnaud in the 11th minute to give the Wizards the lead.

United’s Dimitar Berbatov equalized on a penalty kick in the 41st minute after Wizards defender Jimmy Conrad was given a red card after a sliding tackle on Berbatov.

But Kamara fired the winner for the 10-man Wizards in the 42nd minute, heading home a corner kick just under the crossbar.

A crowd of 52,342 watched in the first event at Arrowhead Stadium since a 325 million-dollar renovation, although Manchester United lacked such star players as Wayne Rooney, Rio Ferdinand, Michael Carrick and Park Ji-Sung.

United will next face the Major League Soccer All-Stars in Houston on Wednesday.
