Competition: Gold Cup
Market: Costa Rica to win against Jamaica
Odds: 5/6 @ Betfair
Costa Rica and Jamaica lock horns in Group B of the CONCACAF Gold Cup this week, and the South American are favourites to come on top in their opening game of this summer’s tournament. Both sides are expected to qualify from their group into the next round, but they are suffering poor form ahead of Thursday’s meeting.
Costa Rica haven’t won a game this year, falling short to the likes of Paraguay, Panama, Colombia, Spain and Mexico in 2015. Jamaica suffered similar form in the Copa America this summer, losing all three group games and crashing out of the tournament without scoring, so the duo come into this clash desperate to end their winless run.
With players such as Joel Campbell (Arsenal) in their attack, Costa Rica are favourites to claim the points this week. Betfair are giving odds of 5/6 for Costa Rica to win against Jamaica on Thursday as a result, and a win in their opening game would see them in pole position to progress to the knockouts.
