Energie Cottbus, who are all but certain to be relegated from the Bundesliga on Sunday, have accepted the resignation of coach Boja Pranikar, it was announced on Saturday.
Energie lost 3-0 at home to Nuremberg on Thursday in the first leg of the play-off between the sides who finished third from bottom in the Bundesliga against the side third from top of the second division.
With the second leg set for Sunday, Energie are odds-on to be relegated and their board of directors accepted the 56-year-old Slovenian’s resignation on Friday.
