Talk Sport is this morning reporting that Ashley Cole could move to Paris St-Germain in the January transfer window.
It has been well documented that Cole is unhappy with ongoing contract talks, with some suggesting that he is only being offered a one-year deal.
This has alerted a number of top European clubs, all of whom recognise that Cole is still one of the best full-backs in football.
It is French club PSG that are being more heavily linked than most though as they are likely to have an attractive contract offer for the 31-year-old.
Then, PSG boss Carlo Ancelotti knows Cole well from his time at Chelsea, so the move definitely makes sense.
It seems likely that Cole wants to stay at Stamford Bridge, it just depends whether the two are able to reach a contract agreement.
The Blues tend to only offer one-year deals to players over 30, something which has left Cole disappointed.
After Ryan Bertrand – another left back – was handed a five-year contract at the club, it was thought Cole would have the same.
This hasn’t materialised as yet though and has led to the sea of speculation.
What happens next is anyone’s guess, but for now, Cole is a Chelsea player.
