Catalan daily Sport has learned that Chelsea have slapped a £21 million price tag on goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois.
The same source has suggested that Barcelona haven’t given up on signing the Belgian international and they plan to lure him to Camp Nou with a little help from Atletico Madrid.
Los Colchoneros may not own the player’s rights at the moment, but they have been told they can sign the keeper for £21 million at any time.
Having established excellent relationship with Barcelona during negotiations for David Villa, it is believed that Atletico will agree to resell Courtois to their La Liga rivals.
The Catalans regard the 21-year-old as a perfect long-term replacement for Victor Valdes, who is set to leave the club when his contract expires at the end of the season.
The two sides are currently locked in the battle for the first place in the La Liga standings, but Barcelona remain 2/5 favourites to defend the trophy.
