According to Sky Sports, Thibaut Courtois is expected in Madrid tomorrow in order to finalise his move from Chelsea. The 26-year-old, who won the Golden Glove at the World Cup this summer, has been heavily criticised for the manner in which he’s trying to force through his move to the Spanish giants. Courtois has made no secret of the fact that he wants to leave, and after not turning up to training, many fans saw that as a sign of disrespect from the Belgian.
The last-minute nature of this switch will likely mean that the Blues will have to look around for a panic buy goalkeeper either today or tomorrow, as the English summer transfer window closes tomorrow whereas the Spanish equivalent remains open until the end of the month. Chelsea will be kicking off their Premier League campaign this weekend as they travel up to take on Huddersfield Town.
