Real Madrid have confirmed that Thibaut Courtois has undergone a medical ahead of his move to the Spanish club. The Belgian goalkeeper’s future has been up in the air for quite some time now, with many fans questioning the logic behind why he decided to force a move away from the Blues in the manner that he did.
None of that matters now, though, as Courtois prepares for life in La Liga with arguably the biggest club in world football. Chelsea will likely be looking around for a late replacement for Courtois, with their first game of the Premier League season taking place this weekend. Chelsea will be facing off against Huddersfield, whereas Real’s next game will be the UEFA Super Cup against Atletico Madrid – Courtois’ former team.
This move is likely also good news for Manchester United fans, too, as it seems to signal the end of Real’s interest in David De Gea.
