Thibaut Courtois is set to sign a new five year deal with Chelsea, according to the Daily Star.
The Belgium international returned to Stamford Bridge in the summer after three seasons on loan with Atletico Madrid, and he has played in each of the Blues three matches so far this campaign.
The new deal is set to be worth around £60k per week, which works out at around double the goalkeeper’s current wage.
Despite being briefly linked with a move away from the club, Petr Cech has remained with Jose Mourinho’s men to provide competition but for now at least Courtois is first choice.
However, the new deal means that there could be a scramble to secure Cech’s services in January, with Real Madrid, Monaco and Paris Saint Germain are all monitoring the situation regarding the 32 year old.
Chelsea currently sit top of the Premier League, having taken maximum points from their three games so far this season.
