Coutinho hopes for Barcelona stay?

According to a recent report from Mundo Deportivo, Philippe Coutinho is still hoping to stay at Barcelona as opposed to leaving.

Coutinho, who has been heavily linked with a return to the Premier League with Newcastle United, has backed new manager Xavi to do a great job at the club.

The magnitude of Coutinho’s initial move from Liverpool to Barcelona was so notable that you can tell he’s eager to make a splash. Alas, he’s been given plenty of opportunities to prove himself, and you have to wonder whether or not Xavi is going to be interested in the idea of keeping him on the books.

Newcastle United are eager to make him their first marquee signing but there’s obviously a lot of pressure that comes with that. The Magpies haven’t won a Premier League game this season and whoever is brought in during the January transfer window will be expected to turn this ship around.
