Philippe Coutinho is keen on a move to Chelsea this summer, according to Daily Express.
Since his big-money move from Liverpool to Barcelona in January last year, the Brazilian has had a rather disappointing spell at the Camp Nou. Despite high-profile departures from the club in recent years, namely Neymar and Andres Iniesta who are both players Coutinho could have theoretically succeeded at Barcelona, as well as frequent injury problems of Ousmane Dembele, he has so far failed to nail down a regular starting spot under head coach Ernesto Valverde. His poor performances have been occasionally accompanied by whistle from the stands of the Catalan club’s stadium during the 2018/19 season.
Naturally, there have been plenty of rumours regarding his potential exit. A move back to Liverpool has been mentioned, as well as Paris Saint-Germain, and even Manchester United as possible destinations. However, it appears that the 27-year-old playmaker has his sights set on Stamford Bridge as his next home.
But with Chelsea facing a two-window transfer ban a the moment, it remains to be seen if the obstacle can be overcome as Barcelona look to recoup at least something of the €160 million that his services have cost them.
