Looking to make a return to winning ways this weekend, Coventry will welcome Tranmere to their adoptive St. Andrew’s on Sunday lunchtime.

Starting with the hosts, while Coventry may not have been able to bounce back from their 4-0 hammering against Rotherham away at Forest Green in midweek, there is no doubt that the Blues will be glad to make a return to St. Andrew’s this weekend. Despite many being critical of their decision to ground share with Championship outfit Birmingham this season, Mark Robins’ men have continued to shine at their adoptive new home. Yet to taste defeat on home soil so far this year and also winning seven of their eight matchups in the Midlands, Coventry have not remarkably lost a match that they have hosted since the 23rd of March.

As for the visitors, while Tranmere may have managed to pick up a hard-fought 2-1 win over Aston Villa’s U21’s in the EFL Trophy in midweek, Micky Mellon’s men have endured a torrid start to the new League One campaign. Suffering back-to-back defeats against Shrewsbury and a thumping 4-1 defeat against Ipswich in their last appearance on the road, The Whites have won just a pair of their opening 11 matches so far this season. A huge part of Tranmere’s issues since making their third-tier return over the summer has been down to their struggles outside of Merseyside. Sunday’s guests are yet to pick up a single away victory this year, losing four of their those five outings.
