Bolton Wanderers boss Owen Coyle remains confident in his squad despite enduring an abysmal start to the current campaign.
The Trotters are yet to secure a point at home this season, scoring four goals while conceding 17 during five losses, and they remain locked in the Premier League relegation zone.
But the Scot believes all will be forgotten once his side start showing their quality.
“We have good players, we have a good team,” Coyle told Sky Sports.
“This is not a team that’s playing at their maximum and losing games, this is a team that there is so much more to come from.”
“The important thing is we had an unbelievable home record last season and we’ve not managed to replicate that yet but we will, we will get back to that.”
Coyle’s side have lost seven of their last nine matches in all competitions, including a 2-1 reverse against Arsenal on Tuesday, which saw them knocked out of the League Cup.
The manager insists his team’s home form is bound to improve, and revealed the bitterness still felt from last weekend’s 2-0 defeat to Sunderland at the Reebok Stadium.
“We are disappointed about losing at home last weekend against Sunderland,” he said.
“I felt in the second half we didn’t do as well as we could have. Prior to that, in the first half we did well, the game before at Wigan we were terrific and that’s where we need to get to again, we need to show that level of consistency.”
“Regardless of who we played we were expecting to get more points there is no doubt about that. I think if we go and analyse it we certainly know that we can be doing better than what we are.”
“If we would have done our job as we should have done last week we would have been up to 12th in the league after the game, so that’s the margins in the league.”
“We do know as well it was always going to be a season of transition with the younger players we have brought to the football club and some of the terrific players that left us or who are injured it’s just the nature of this league.”
“But where we are, we are certainly not enjoying being 18th in the league but what we need to do is start picking up the points and moving up the league and we are more than capable of doing that.”
