Coyle delighted with valuable point

Bolton manager Owen Coyle was pleased with his side’s performance after they held Arsenal to a goalless draw on Wednesday.

The result extended Bolton’s unbeaten streak to four matches in all competitions as they kept up the form that has seen them climb out of the English Premier League relegation zone.

“We’re delighted to get another valuable point,” Coyle told Sky Sports.

“It finished 0-0 but I thought it was a fantastic advert for the Premier League. It was two teams going all out to win with some good chances at either end.”

“For our part I thought we were terrific, with the tempo and intensity with which we played against a quality side.”

“Arsenal, whatever you say about their injuries and everything else, they’ve still got world-class players on that pitch. We had to defend well at times.”

“Equally we looked a real threat on the counterattack, as did Arsenal, because that’s the way the game panned out. It was both teams going for it.”

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger praised Bolton’s resilient display at the back following the stalemate.

“We played the game we wanted but we didn’t take our chances and Bolton played defensively very focused,” Wenger said.

“As long as we didn’t take our first chance, they had not to change their tactics.”

Wenger refused to put a date on Jack Wilshere’s comeback after he suffered another setback in his bid to overcome a foot injury.

“(There’s) no news. Nothing to add to what I’ve said recently,” he said.

“It’s very difficult to say (how long he will be out) at the moment, I don’t know.”
