Bolton manager Owen Coyle admits league survival is the main priority but he will not give up on the club’s Wembley dream.
Wanderers visit White Hart Lane on Saturday looking to earn an FA Cup semi-final berth for the second successive season.
However, with crucial games coming up in the Premier League against relegation rivals Blackburn and lowly Aston Villa, it had been suggested in some quarters that a second string side could take on Tottenham.
But Coyle maintains he will select the best team he can as his side take on a Tottenham side who have lost their last three league games.
“You have to make sure that you get the balance right, and so it’s fair to say that there will be one or two players coming in,” Coyle told reporters.
“I’ve got to stress that it will be one or two and not wholesale changes like teams have done before.”
“We have a number of top-class players champing at the bit and ready to start games. They have been sitting on the bench and have wanted to play their part.”
“Any changes will take nothing away from our team because these players are of high calibre and have played in our team already for large parts this season.”
“We’ll pick the strongest team that we can to go to Tottenham and win a game. We are playing one of the best teams in the country and we have to be ready for that challenge.”
