Bolton boss Owen Coyle has vowed not to rush his injured players back into the team despite their dire position in the Premier League.
Wanderers are currently without Stuart Holden, Chung-Yong Lee, Sam Ricketts and Marcos Alonso, who have suffered long-term injury problems are unlikely to feature again this year.
However, Coyle is optimistic about their recovery and is hopeful they will play some part in this season’s campaign.
He told Sky Sports News: “They are certainly improving. That augers well. But we can’t be rushing anybody back.”
“We have to make sure first and foremost that when they come back it is the right time for them to continue their careers, as much as we would love them fit and available now.”
The Scot has also backed young keeper Adam Bogdan to bounce back from his mistake-ridden game against Chelsea, as the 24-year-old replaced veteran keeper Jussi Jaaskelainen between the sticks.
“Young Adam, as we know, made a couple of mistakes in the Chelsea game,” Coyle said.
“But he’ll be a top goalkeeper in time. That is the thing about a goalkeeper. You make a mistake and invariably it’s a goal and you have to through that, so you have to show mental strength. Jussi will help Adam with that as well.”
Bolton tackle fellow strugglers Wigan at the DW Stadium on Saturday.
