Zenit defender Domenico Criscito could be the subject of a January bid from Inter Milan, reports Russian daily Izvestia.
With Alvaro Pereira failing to prove his worth at Giuseppe Meazza, Walter Mazzarri is on the lookout for a new left-sided full-back and he has reportedly made the former Italy international his number one target.
The Nerazzurri have been keeping close tabs on the 26-year-old for ever since he left Genoa for Zenit, and they are ready to offer him an escape route from St Petersburg.
Criscito has always said that he would be interested in a return to Italian Serie A, and he could decide to finally quit Zenit in January.
The highly rated full-back has just returned from a lengthy injury lay-off, but he faces a real battle to get back into the side.
Having signed Cristian Ansaldi from Rubin this summer, it is believed Zenit would consider any offer from Milan.
