Cristante set for shock return to AC Milan

Portuguese media outlet A Bola has suggested that AC Milan are weighing up a January move for Benfica starlet Bryan Cristante.

The Rossoneri were heavily criticised for letting one of their hottest prospects join the Eagles in the summer and they seem ready to admit their mistake.

According to A Bola, AC Milan are exploring the possibility of signing the 19-year-old on loan in the upcoming transfer window.

The Rossoneri are short of options in the centre of the park and they believe Cristante would be able to make instant impact at San Siro.

Chances are that Benfica could be tempted by such an arrangement considering that the youngster is currently not in the first team plans of coach Jorge Jesus.

Cristante has only made one substitute appearance in the league since arriving at Estadio da Luz, while starting one Taca de Portugal match and featuring in two Champions League games.
