Liverpool have a difficult trip to the Santiago Bernabeu to face Champions League holders Real Madrid tonight, and the Reds will be fearful of being dealt another football lesson by Ballon d’Or winner Cristiano Ronaldo.
The Portuguese international, 29, has been in the best form of his career in the last 18 months, and this season he’s already hit 20 goals for the campaign. Ronaldo scored in the first meeting against Liverpool a fortnight ago, and he’s netting a goal in every Champions League group game so far too.
Ronaldo was the top Champions League goalscorer of last season, scoring 17 goals in 11 games. And with 20 goals in the league and Europe already, Liverpool have a tough task to keep him quiet.
Ladbrokes are giving odds of 11/4 for the 29-year-old to score first tonight, which is also likely to result in a home win for Real Madrid. The Spanish giants, who are currently top of La Liga, have picked up maximum points from their three Champions League group games.
