Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport is reporting that Fiorentina are hot on the trail of Genoa full-back Sime Vrsaljko.
Viola boss Vincenzo Montella is not exactly spoilt for choices at right-back, with central defender Nenad Tomovic usually used on the right hand side.
And with another option Juan Cuadrado widely tipped to leave, Fiorentina are on the lookout for a new right-sided defender.
Tuttosport has suggested that Viola officials are closely monitoring the performances of Genoa full-back Sime Vrsaljko.
Following an impressive season in Serie A, the 22-year-old was named in Croatia’s World Cup squad and he was used on the left in their opening fixture against Brazil.
Fiorentina are aware the player’s price could increase during the tournament finals, which is why they are considering a bid for his services.
Sime Vrsaljko has earned rave reviews for his performances during the debut Serie A season, with the player making a total of 22 league appearances.
