Croatian defender Dario Knezevic is out of the rest of Euro 2008 after injuring knee ligaments, the national coach Slaven Billic announced on Tuesday.

The 26-year-old, who plays for relegated Serie A side Livorno, was injured during Croatia's 1-0 win over Poland on Monday after colliding with his team-mate and goalkeeper Vedran Runje.

“It is a huge handicap for us,” admitted Bilic, even though Knezevic is a reserve player.

Bilic added that midfield duo Dario Srna and Ivan Rakitic had slight injuries to their calf and knee respectively, though, both are expected to be fit for Friday's quarter-final with Turkey in Vienna.
